As soon as you walk in you'll be greeted by the staff and escorted to your table. You will barely sit down as your server will bring chips and salsa and ask for your beverage preferences. The menu is extensive with every variation offered of staple Mexican dishes, where you can choose beef, chicken (grilled, pulled), pork, shrimp and tilapia. The fajitas are available for one, or larger to share. Many dishes come with refried beans, but you can substitute black beans if you'd like. Traditional as well as fruit margaritas, and several choices of tequila, including top shelf. The food choices for children is very good, the main room is all booths and the interior room, for large groups, has a mix of table set ups. The interior of the restaurant is modeled after a Mexican courtyard, pleasant, and a nice place for an intimate dinner, or a party.
We enjoyed our time here. We ordered the Steak Fajitas, Tacos Mexicana, and a kids Chicken Quesadilla. Delicious and filling. The servings were plentiful.

We stopped in here for lunch for the first time the other day, and we were so impressed! Located out of the way, down highway 31 between Calera and Alabaster, this unassuming Mexican restaurant was tucked into a small strip mall attached to a gas station. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked in and found it much bigger and nicer than it looked from the outside. We were immediately sat at a large, spacious booth and given menus, chips, and salsa. The salsa was SO good. It was well flavored and spicy without being too hot to enjoy. The lunch menu was super reasonable, and the two of us ate and left a good tip for less than $25! I had the grilled chicken breast with cheese sauce on top, with rice, beans, and tortillas served alongside. My friend had the beef chilaquiles and they were hearty and delish. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. This will be on our rotation for new favorite lunch spots!
Our family went to the Rancho Escondido Mexican Grill for the first time today. The food and service were excellent and the prices were low. My wife and I had the Special Lunch 1 and our son had the Huevos Rancheros. Both were flavorful and the portions were large. This was some of the best Mexican food we have tried.
